Adoption, broken bones, and tree house

I have permission from my friend, Michelle, to share the link to her blog. Please pray for them, as she and her husband hope to travel for their first trip to meet their children within the next month or so. And then for Michelle and I,as we will leave a couple weeks after that, to bring them home! And pray that the transition for the kids is as smooth as possible. Michelle's link is below. Thanks ya'll!

I got my passport photos done a couple of days ago, and sent my passport renewal app in today! Yeah!

In other news, here's what we did yesterday...

Jared decided to do just one more back flip out of a tree,(after daddy said no) so that he could show his brothers that he could do it. It resulted in an ER trip and a broken foot. It's not a bad break...but no beach, or swimming, or parks. And we are headed to FL in a couple of weeks!!! 8(

And for those who have asked, here are updated pics of "Joshua's" tree house. :)

This is their trap door up underneath

And here's one from the side. He still plans to put the floor up, with a nice sized enclosure up top, and a 3 ft. deck with a railing around it. This project has become BIG! LOL!

Summer activities

Busy, busy time in our household lately! We'd hardly finished our school year, when the boys and I took an unexpected trip to Florida, and then brought an unexpected guest (my teenage cousin) back to our home for almost a month! We were able to help some friends out, and I'm loving the chance to spend time with my cousin!

My Honey is building the boys a tree house in the backyard, and he does not do things small. LOL! It's going to be a grand playset when he finally finishes it....they may never come inside to the main house! So he's been pretty busy between work and then coming home to try and get it finished so that the boys can enjoy it this summer.

The boys, my cousin, and I leave for Florida in 2 weeks! Boy, I am dreading the traveling. But it will be wonderful to spend time with my friends and family! I miss them so very much! The boys are really excited that they will get to spend time with cousins especially. :)

I have some exciting news! I'm not sure how much I can share on here, so I will just say that some friends of ours are adopting 2 children, and are leaving very soon to go and get them and bring them home! I'm so very excited for them! The country they are adopting from requires 2 trips. They are both going the first trip, but he can't go with her the second trip due to work. So she has asked me to go with her to bring her precious little ones home!!! I am beyond thrilled, and so honored that she asked me to go with her! So, Lord willing, we will be leaving within the next few months.
I see God's hand moving everything into place. No, it's not as quick as I'd like. No, it's not the way I would do it. But I wouldn't want it any other way. His way is perfect! How amazing to be able to see my friend's adoption story first hand! To experience travel to another country and visit an orphanage, where there are so many little ones who need a family! To spend time with a parent of a special need's child, and learn all that I can! To be a blessing and to help in any way I can! WOW! Thank you Lord!

I will update on our trip as it gets closer and dates are set! And I will find out if I can share names so that you might pray for this family! I know that they would appreciate that!

I am so thankful for each of you who are keeping up with my family on here, and praying for us! God has blessed us with such wonderful friends and family! :)

About us

I am SO not a computer savvy person. This is my first attempt at writing a blog, and I really have no idea what I'm doing. LOL! Here goes... Joshua and I met about 15 years ago, in our church. I was only around 14 then, and he was on his first assignment in the Air Force. We would see each other at church, and say hello, and he did teach a couple of lessons in our youth group. Actually, I didn't like him at ALL. Haha! But I was a rebellious teenager and thought his ideas about "courting" were strange and antiquated. Fast forward a couple of years. I graduated from homeschool at 16 years old, and got my CNA degree over the summer, while living with family a couple of hours from home. While visiting home on the weekends, my dad, who directs the choir in the church, had Josh and I sit next to each other. :) We started talking and got to know each other a bit. We continued to talk and when my dad found out that I was interested, he took Josh aside, without my knowing it, and totally embarrassed me by "giving his blessing" for us to court and pursue marriage. LOL! From there, things went quickly. I had been praying for a godly husband, and all I wanted was to get married and be a wife and mom. I know that God put us together! We were engaged 4 months later, and married 3 months after that. We were transferred to Ohio, where we were blessed with our first 2 boys, and then New York, where we were again blessed with 2 more boys! I stay home and school all of my boys, and Joshua is still active military. I have always prayed that one day the Lord would allow us to adopt. I can't tell you how many adoption packets I've sent for, and blogs I've read, and orphans that I have looked at and prayed for over the years. Joshua never felt like it was something we should do. It just wasn't his desire. We kept busy with 4 pregnancies and 4 little ones in a row, and now my "baby" is almost 6 years old. I have been feeling the Lord's leading to again look at adoption, and God has done a work on Josh's heart, and we feel the time is right! We are ready to open our hearts and home to a child in need, and our boys are super excited about a baby brother! Right now we are starting to save up funds for the adoption process. We have looked at many different programs and countries, and have decided to use an agency that is highly recommended by a friend. At least, we hope to be accepted into the program when the time comes. The agency is CCAI (Chinese Children Adoption International). We have also talked extensively on the subject of gender. As much as I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have a daughter(I'm WAY outnumbered here), we have chosen to ask for a son. With 4 boys already, we think it's the best option not only for our family, but also for the child we bring home. Can you imagine being the baby girl in a family full of crazy boys??? I cannot tell you how excited I am! I am praying constantly, that God give me the strength to be patient until we are able to send off our application. But I know that it's all in HIS timing, not mine. We ask that you please pray for the Corner family!!! We have a long road ahead of us, but it's SO worth it. :)
